Young researchers are now required to learn and use a diverse range of bleeding-edge techniques. In order to benefit from these advances in technology, new approaches to training are desperately needed. This event will explore how current approaches could be improved to tackle present and future challenges in neuroscience training.
After a brief presentation about the current hands-on training opportunities in neuroscience, participants will hear from a panel representing prominent international neuroscience courses: What makes these courses popular/useful? What are the plans for the future? This will be followed by a Q&A session where panel members will discuss key issues and respond to questions from the audience.
This special interest event is jointly organised by the Cajal Training Programme, IBRO-PERC and FENS Committee for Higher Education and Training (CHET)

- David DiGregorio (Institut Pasteur, France), Former Director of Imaging Structure & Function in the Nervous System, (CSHL courses), founder and Director of Principal of Fluorescence Microscopy (Institut Pasteur), Co-organizer of the Paris Spring School (Paris, France).
- Claire Wyart (ICM, France), Director of the Interacting with neural circuits (Cajal Training Programme course)
- Adam Kampff (Voight-Kampff Ltd, UK), Director of the Experimental Neuroscience Bootcamp Neurokit courses (Cajal Training Programme).
